Here are some animal sculptures made from old hubcaps by Ptolemy Elrington Ranina ranina is the largest and best-known of the frog crabs. Its long, narrow body and paddle-like limbs look uncannily frog-like, but its hard shell and 10 legs mark it out as a crab, and a true one at that, rather than a crab only in name like a hermit crab. Most true crabs have bodies at least as wide as they are long, and they scuttle sideways. Frog crabs, however, are slimmer and move forward and back.
R. ranina pops out of its hiding places to scavenge the remains of dead marine animals falling from above, but they sometimes also catch small fish swimming close to the bottom. Source: newscientist.com

Creative and art director Ganesh Prasad Acharya, together with copywriter Kaushik Katty Roy, created these social ads for Sanctuary Asia, one of the first and greatest environmental news magazines in India.
The slogan on these ads, “When the wood go, wildlife goes” drives home the point made by these macabre images – when you cut down habitats, you might as well kill the animals that live there as well. Rainforests contain as much as 80% of the world’s biodiversity, so their rapid destruction in South America and Asia is a serious problem. Source: libutron Photographer Tarek Mawad and animator Friedrich van Schoor just spent six weeks embedded in nature to create Bioluminescent Forest. The 4-minute short film imagines what various plants, insects, spiderwebs, and mushrooms might look like if they possessed the ability to emit bioluminescent light, creating a strange wonderland of blinking and twinkling organisms. The filmmakers state that everything you see was created live, without any effects added in post-production. Bosque bioluminiscente, el cortometraje de 4 minutos en el que se observan varias plantas, insectos, telarañas y hongos parecer tener la capacidad de emitir luz bioluminiscente, creando un extraño país de las maravillas de organismos parpadeantes.
