real life hypnotoad, Argentine horned frog

The Hypnotoad is one of Matt Groening's creations is a large toad-like creature that has large oscillating multicolored eyes and emits a droning hum. His eyes glow all the time. The toad apparently uses these as a power of hypnotism on surrounding people and animals.

Apparently we found the resemblance of this character with a real life frog called Argentine Horned Frog (Ceratophrys ornata) on the Facebook page of Igor Siwanowicz (photographer). 

The Argentine horned frog is most well known for being a voracious eater, as the horned frog will attempt to swallow anything that moves close to the horned frogs wide mouth. The horned frog tends to hunt things such as insects, small birds and mammals, lizards and other frogs, and the horned frog is often very greedy with its selection.
