This is a tiny globular springtail of the species Dicyrtoma grinbergsi (Collembola - Sminthuridae) described from Siberia, Russia. Springtails of this family have a globular shaped body with numerous setae. They have eyes, and their antennae are longer than their head.

The Sminthurid springtails usually overwinter as eggs. They are herbivores and feed of decaying plant matter, fungal spores, and single celled algae. They are found skating on surface film in the calm water along the edge of rivers and streams. The size of the Sminthurids at maturity is usually less than 3 mm.

Esta es un pequeño colémbolo globular de la especie Dicyrtoma grinbergsi (Collembola - Sminthuridae) descritos desde Siberia, Rusia. Los colémbolos de esta familia tienen un cuerpo con forma globular con numerosas setas. Tienen ojos, y sus antenas son más largas que la cabeza. 

Los colémbolos sminthurideos generalmente pasan el invierno como huevos. Son herbívoros y se alimentan de materia vegetal en descomposición, esporas de hongos y algas unicelulares. Se encuentran patinando en la película superficial de el agua tranquila a lo largo del borde de los ríos y arroyos. El tamaño de estos colémbolos suele ser inferior a 3 mm.
